    Bank ABC is reinforcing its Retail & Digital Banking Department with the recruitment of a RetailMiddle Office Officer .

    The Retail Middle Office Officer will participate in the operationalmanagement of a robust Middle Office function within the Retail BankingDivision to provide a seamless Client origination and execution experiencethrough the Coverage units.
    The RetailBanking Middle Office Officer is a first line of defense function which isenvisaged to play the role of an enabler between the Front (Business), Middle(Credit, Legal etc.) and Back Offices (Operations, Finance) through which thebank's entire lending portfolio will be managed and as such, it will be thereference point in interfaces between Client(s), Business Unit Management, theCredit Approving Authority (LCC), Creditand Risk Management, Legal, Audit, Compliance and Operations management. Thejob holder would be responsible for introducing new disciplines and effectivelyset standards so as to ensure a high level client experience as well as providestrong partnership to the front line to maximize time towards origination.

    1. PrincipalResponsibilities & Accountabilities:

    • Deliver a strong and efficient Retail Banking Middle Office discipline in the bank to cater to all its lending activities.
    • Enable a smooth and sound client on-barding and account opening process to the best relationship initiation experience.
    • Serve as a referral point to the front and back offices for arbitrating on issues/matters stemming from the bank's lending activities.
    • Introduce best practices and robust controls that increase both awareness and accountability within the coverage teams for managing risks in the department's operations thus minimizing the impact / number of gaps identified in the business.
    • Endeavour to identify opportunities to bring about efficiencies through automation of tasks undertaken by the department and/or enhancements to the bank's IT systems.

    2. Job Requirements:

    - Education:

    Bachelor's or a Master's degree from a reputable university in Finance, Management or another relevant field ORalternatively, a minimum level of work experience as stated below.

    - Knowledge:

    • Relevant experience in credits, trade finance,treasury, front office and operations; Good financial assessment skills withproven business planning capabilities and ability to challenge figures.

    - Experience:

    • At least 3 years of relevant work experience ina bank or a consulting / audit firm or any related financial servicesinstitution.
    - Personal Attributes:
    • Strong written & verbal communication / presentational skills.
    • Good time-management skills.
    • Detail oriented and decent organization.
    • Ability to perform under time pressure and challenging environment.
    • Good PC and IT skills.
