    About the job

    DRC Tunisia protection portfolio aiming to contribute to the improvement of the humanitarian protection response in the governorate of Medenine by:

    • Understanding the profiles and experiences of refugees and migrants for sustainable response.
    • Improving the governance and project management capacities of the local partners through a diagnosis of their technical capacities and an analysis of their strengthening needs.
    • Strengthening the child and youth protection and integration in south Tunisia.

    Management, Coordination and Implementation:

    • Manage and oversee the implementation of the project activities, including planning, monitoring and evaluation. Develop work plans, ensure quality programming and manage program budgets and resources.
    • Prepare, implement and report regularly on the status of project work plans; regularly update project management tool including indicators tracker.
    • Support the implementation of monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning (MEAL) plan in coordination with the DRC MEAL team
    • Keep track of indicators and monitor progress towards targets according to log frame and project proposal;
    • Liaise with relevant authorities, stakeholders, and community groups in order to foster positive relationships, ensure acceptance and promote ownership and empowerment of target communities
    • Provide regular timely internal reports and other relevant information on project activities based on agreed formats and schedule
    • Provide inputs and data from the field implementation for new proposal development
    • Ensure that beneficiaries have safe and meaningful access to feedback and complaints mechanism and that they receive a timely response to their concerns
    • Collaborate with Economic Recovery team to ensure implementation of DRC integrated programming approach.
    • Conduct duties in accordance with DRC Code of Conduct and with DRC programme Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

    Financial Management:

    • Manage overall budget for the project including liaising with finance and grants on progress on all budget lines
    • Accurately plan, purchase and report on the expenditures for project products and services to maximize cost efficiency
    • Prepare and maintain a procurement plan for all project resources, including inputs, services and consultancies
    • Facilitate monthly budget follow-up meetings (BFUs) with special focus on accuracy of monthly expenditures and donor reporting
    • Work with Supply Chain team to ensure a) timely purchase and b) delivery of supplies to field locations as well as c) payment of invoices.

    Monitoring and Reporting

    • Prepare weekly progress updates and monthly narrative reports.
    • Contribute to and support effective monitoring, evaluation, and learning processes and initiatives, and ensure effective data and information management and contribute to regular reporting on project activities
    • Work with MEAL teams to ensure timely tracking of project progress through monthly indicator tracking table
    • Prepare all necessary documentation for each activity including travel request, field trip reports, activity reports and reconciliation of any expenses spent during each trip
    • Develop TORs for assessments and evaluations
    • Travel to monitor the quality of the implementation of activities;
    • Capture stories and lessons learned to develop cases studies to be shared internally, with the donor and with partners.

    Perform other related duties as assigned.

    About you

    To be successful in this role we expect you to have at least five years' protection project management experience. Moreover, we also expect the following:

    Required

    • Proven work experience in implementing migration, child protection, GBV protection, and/or legal aid activities in Tunisia.
    • Proven management skills and a competence in people management.
    • Solid understanding of the migration dynamics in south Tunisia.
    • Commitment to learning and implementing organizational policies and procedures.
    • Ability to manage competing priorities and to meet deadlines.
    • Excellent skill in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • Professional fluency in English, French and Arabic is required.
    • Master's degree in international development, social science, civil society, law, political science, Human Rights, or a related field.
    • Bachelor's degree in relevant fields with at least 5 years' working experience in similar protection positions.
