Preoperative:
● Survey of the medical files of the patient to operate.
● Verification, preparation and maintenance of anesthesia equipment
● To welcome the patient to the operating room
● Perform skills contributing to anesthesia (putting infusion, IV line, preparation of materiel to make endotracheal intubation, ventilation, ECG, Pulse-Oxymetre, capnographe for general anesthesia, ALR, local rachi-anesthesia, peridural)
● Perform the actions contributing to anesthesia (putting infusion, administration drugs by IV line…)
● Intubation (endotracheal tube, putting respiratory to the patient)
Peroperative:
● Surveillance per operator and maintenance of the general anesthesia
● Cooperation with the surgeons for the progress of the surgery in better
conditions.
● Wakening: cardio respiratory aid during the patient's wakening on table or in recovery room until recuperation and the effect of anesthesia wear off.
● End of operation (preparation of suction tube to make extubation) and survey the wake up of the patient.
Postoperative:
● Transfer patient to the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU).
● Close observation and care for patient.
● Administration of analgesic or antiemetic medication for any pain or nausea and
vomiting.
● Administeration of Intravenous fluids and supplemental oxygen
● Monitoring vital signs closely (pulse, blood pressure, temperature, blood oxygen
levels) as the effects of anesthesia wear off.
● Ease patient anxiety and ensure his physical and emotional comfort.
● Prevent hypothermia and encourage good circulation.
